Toddler highlights

Africa savanna

Giraffes, lions and other big animals, all in one area.

Toddler tip: Giraffes are a toddler favourite, so start here.

Tundra Trek

Polar bears and other Arctic animals.

Toddler tip: Look for the underwater viewing window.

Kids zoo

A play and discovery area made for little ones.

Toddler tip: Plan a long break here. It's a good spot to let them run.

Splash pad

A summer splash pad for cooling off.

Toddler tip: Pack a swimsuit and towel in summer.

Plan your visit

Plan your route

The zoo is very large and spread over hills. Pick two or three regions instead of trying to see everything, and grab a map at the entrance.

Strollers and wagons

Bring a stroller or wagon, or rent one at the zoo. Little legs will not make it all the way around.

Food

There are restaurants and snack stands around the zoo, and picnic areas if you bring your own.

Toronto Zoo through the seasons

spring

Baby animal season, and the paths are less hot.

summer

Busy and hot, so start early and use the splash pad.

fall

A beautiful time, with cooler weather and active animals.

winter

Quieter, with many animals still out. Dress warmly and check what's open.
